TBGN: How did it feel to win an important competition like british schools?
KL: Amazing... after each piece I knew that I did good, but wasnt sure how good until the end of the competition. So it was brilliant to win overall.
TBGN: Do you look up to you older team mate, Beth Tweddle?
KL: Yes because she is an outstanding gymnast and I hope to be as good as her one day.
TBGN: Who are your favourite gymnasts now that Emma Williams and Andreea Raducan have retired?
KL: Beth Tweddle..She is at Liverpool and like I said before, she is outstanding.
TBGN: How old were you when you first started gymnastics?
KL: I started at the age of 6 doing rec.. I stopped for about 9 or 10 months but then asked my mun would she start taking me again to the rec gym at Warrington. Ive never stopped since.
TBGN: Have you ever had a major injury that has affected your career?
KL: Nothing major only the usual things like aching back ,sore thumb rips , strained muscles, headaches, and one time knocking myself out on the vault.....
TBGN: What is your happiest gymnastics memory?
KL: Definatly wining the British schools and also winning British teams twice on the run.
TBGN: Do you find it hard to balance your training and your studies?
KL: Its not to bad.I get one evening in the week and the weekends to catch up. Sometimes I just have to do my homework when I get back home from the gym.
TBGN: Are you interested in any other sports?
KL: I enjoy swimming and netball. Also running on the school sports day.
TBGN: Is there anything you would like to change about gymnastics?
KL: The only thing I can think of is that gymnastics should be mentioned more on the telly and in the newspapers. Football ,football, all the time. We have good gymnasts in this country!
TBGN: What are your major goals for 2003?
KL: Keep working hard and be selected for home G.B. internationals.
