TBGN: You seem to be settling in to the role of the powerful vault and floor worker on the current British team, have these two pieces always come more naturally to you?
NW: Yeah I've always found them a lot easier than bars and beam. I've always had to spend that little extra time on those pieces.
TBGN: Are you making any major upgrades to the other two pieces of apparatus in the next year or so?
NW: Hopefully I'll be able to show some new skills next year.
TBGN: At the Commonwealth Games it was your performance on beam that anchored the English girls to the team silver medal; were you aware as you mounted the beam how tight the scoring was between Canada and England?
NW: Yeah I was aware of the situation before I started my routine and I was very pleased to have competed well enough to get the silver medal for the team. It was a fantastic moment for me!
TBG: Your Tsukahara full twist is very high and powerful; are you thinking of adding an extra (half) twist to it in the near future?
NW: I am currently in competition mode so am only trainning my two competition vaults but hopefully for next year i will have a vault of a higher start value!!
TBGN: You've now been interviewed for TV several times and you always seem very shy in front of the camera. Do you find it difficult dealing with the media demands on your 'fame' (of a gymnastics kind, anyway ;))?
NW: I can be quite shy in front of the cameras, although not shy away from them as my team mates will tell you!! I don't mind doing other things but am not keen on live interviews.
TBGN: Looking ahead, if Nicola Willis could write the script of her future gymnastics career, what would she make sure happened?
NW: I would like to keep competing at a high standard and improve on previous results!! My ultimate goal is the 2004 Olympic Games
