Rosalie Hutton Retires

Rosalie Hutton, Scotland and GB international gymnast, would like to announced her retirement from gymnastics. Rosalie has decided that she reached her main goal earlier this year and has decided to try new things. Rosalie was part of Scottish team that placed 5th at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. Rosalie was also part of British team since 2004; 2004 GB vs France, 2005 GB vs Italy vs Switzerland, and 2005 GB vs China. TBGN would like to wish Rosalie all the very best of luck in the future and we hope she keeps us posted about her new life!

TBGN bids Sam Bayley a fond farewell

Samantha Bayley, Wales and GB international gymnast, announced her retirement today. Sam has been plagued with injuries throughout her senior career and has decided to concentrate on other areas. Earlier this year Sam achieved her main goal for her gymnastics career - competing at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. Sam has also been a member of the British team for many international competitions, and placed 8th in the vault final of the 2005 European Championships. TBGN would like to wish Sam all the very best of luck in the future and we hope she keeps us posted about her new life.

Sixth Title for Beth

As predicted, Liverpool's star Beth Tweddle claimed her 6th AA title tonight at the Guildford Spectrum. Lynette Lisle of Barry Girls performed solidly and placed second behind Beth. Aisling Williams of City of Liverpool proved that she is back in the competition and placed third. Imogen Cairns suffered some mistakes on bars and placed fourth while Melanie Roberts and Rosalie Hutton placed fifth and sixth respectively.

New Junior Champion - Becky Downie

Two-time Espoir Champion, Becky Downie of Notts, has captured gold at the 2006 Junior National Championships this evening at the Guildford Spectrum. Behind her in second place was Hannah Clowes from the City of Liverpool grabbed a silver while Rebecca Wing of Heathrow was only .05 behind and earned a bronze medal. Marissa King from Huntington placed fourth while Becky's team mate Laura Jones placed fifth.

Jordan Strikes Gold In Espoirs

Congratulations to Notts gymnast Jordan Lipton who became the 2006 British Espoir National Champion this evening at the Guildford Spectrum. Hot on her heals for second place was Heathrow's Danusia Francis - who was solid on her first three events but had an unfortunate fall on her first vault. In third place was Danusia's team mate Nicole Hibbert.
